Release Date: December 3, 2019

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay was saddened to learn of the passing of a prominent figure of the community of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and indeed all of Labrador. For nearly 30 years, Dr. Rawluk called Happy Valley-Goose Bay home, and throughout his time tenure with Labrador Grenfell Health, he delivered many babies. A well known and respected Ob-gyn, his career spanned 50 years.

His Worship, Mayor Wilson (Wally) Andersen stated:

“Dr. Rawluk, in his own way, was as down to earth as anyone could be. He was not only recognized, respected and well-liked in our community; communities throughout all of Labrador felt this way about him. He was just that kind of person; you met him, and you instantly liked him.”

The 12th Council, Management, and Staff of the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay offer sincere condolences to Dr. Rawluk’s family, friends, and former colleagues.

In honour of his legacy and his contribution to health care in Labrador, flags in front of Town Hall will fly at half-mast until after Dr. Rawluk’s funeral service.
