The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay would like to thank the many individuals, organizations and agencies that worked to facilitate the evacuation of Mud Lake Residents beginning early morning of May 17th.
The Town has maintained communication with Fire & Emergency Services and the Department of National Defence throughout the operations and will continue to do so over the coming days.
Various points of water levels throughout the community will be monitored by staff over the next 24hour period. The Town has a contingency plan in place should water levels continue to rise.
Presently, all municipal services and operations have not been affected. Should there be any changes, the Town will notify the public.
