Splash Pad Seasonal Closing

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Department of Community Services & Recreation is advising residents that the Kinsmen Park Splash Pad is closed for the season effective today, Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay would like to express our continued appreciation to everyone who has used the Splash Pad respectfully over the past summer and look forward to re-opening in the 2021 summer season.
The Kinsmen Park facility (Park & Playground) will remain open to the public daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
*Note: Kinsmen Park & Splash Pad will not be available for booking party’s or other events
**Note: The Stage at Kinsmen Park will not be open
*** Note: Washroom facilities remain closed to the public at Kinsmen Park
Our continued objective is to ensure that the Town follows all recommended public health guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19. Therefore, we ask that parents & guardians monitor their children’s activity at the Kinsmen Park playground facility.
Staff will continue to be as proactive as possible with the disinfection of playground equipment, and we ask all users to practice Physical Distancing as much as possible and to wash hands frequently or use hand sanitizer as often as possible. If determined that Physical Distancing Guidelines are not being followed at Kinsmen Park or any of the Town run outdoor facilities, then the facility will be CLOSED down for public access.
Though unfortunate, these unprecedented measures are necessary to be proactive against the potential spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay extends thanks to the public for their understanding at this time of uncertainty.
In consultation with officials at Labrador Grenfell Health and guidance released by the office of the Provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health, the 12th Council of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Management, and Staff will continue to monitor updates relating to the pandemic and update residents regularly.
The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay strongly recommends that residents and businesses continue to utilize a cautious approach and exercise recommended practices to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.
