The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay advises the public that the annual Trapline Marathon takes place this Sunday, October 10, 2021.

 

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay offers congratulations to the Trapline Marathon organizing committee and indeed to all those participating. We wish you a safe and enjoyable event and remember to #RUNFULLTILT

 

Residents and Motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution along Hamilton River Road. Please refer to the enclosed Public Service Announcement from the Trapper’s Running Club:

Public Service Announcement

 

The Trapper’s Running Club is alerting the public that there will be a two-hour road closure during the Trapline Marathon taking place on Sunday, October 10. The road closure will take place from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM for the following area:

 

  • South/Eastbound Lane of Hamilton River Road from the Kelland Drive Intersection to Kinsmen Park

 

This closure is necessary to allow runners to safely proceed to the finish line located at Kinsmen Park. Road marshals will be directing traffic and the RCMP will enforce the road closure to traffic, with the exception of emergency vehicles.

 

Drivers are asked to please be alert and to respect and follow the detour directions given by road marshals. Traffic will be directed to take Kelland Drive to the Valley portion of town.

 

This road closure is approved by the authority of the Department of Transportation and Works.

 

The Trapline Marathon Organizing Committee would like to thank the public for its cooperation and appreciates the continued support of motorists to ensure the safety of runners.
