Traffic Disruption – Water Line Repairs

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Public Works Department is advising residents and businesses that due to an unexpected break in the Water Distribution Line at the intersection of Hamilton River Road and Bowell Street, necessary repairs will commence on the morning of May 14, 2020, this area will experience traffic disruptions beginning around 8:00 AM  Thursday, May 14, 2020.

 

Areas to be affected are:

 

  • The intersection of Hamilton River Road & Bowell Street

 

The Public is further advised that residences and businesses in this area MAY experience a loss of water or lower than usual water pressure during this timeframe and possible discoloration of water, this may also affect surrounding areas. If you notice water discoloration, please runs taps until the water runs clear. Residents in and around the Hamilton River Road and Bowel Street area may already be experiencing water discoloration; if so, please runs taps until water coloration clears.

 

Businesses that may be affected are:

  • Bennett’s Ultramar
  • Uncle Ern’s Meats & Treats
  • Grafter’s
  • Hamilton Drugs
  • Intact Insurance
  • Hong Kong Restaurant

 

Upon completion of repairs to the Water Distribution Line, a Boil Water Advisory will be in effect. The Town will issue a follow-up notice to that effect.

 

Town Crews will have all applicable Safety Signage visible, and motorists are encouraged to exercise caution in and around the area.
