Happy Valley Day 77th Anniversary

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay advises that on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at a 10:00 AM ceremony, Deputy Mayor Bert Pomeroy along with Councillor Jackie Compton Hobbs and Councillor Lori Dyson Edmunds signed an official Proclamation declaring September 26th, 2020 as “Happy Valley Day.”

September 26th, 2020 marks the 77th Anniversary of the founding of Happy Valley. On September 26th, 1943 John Broomfield, Gilbert Saunders, and Thorwald Perrault along with their respective families settled at what was to be named Happy Valley.

Following the Proclamation Signing, Councillor Jackie Compton Hobbs and Councillor Lori Dyson drew names for winners in the Happy Valley Day Trivia Contest.The Winners are listed below in no particular order:

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions and concerns related to physical distancing Happy Valley Fest – Seniors Fun Day will not be taking place this year at Kinsmen Park.
