The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is advising the public that it is closely monitoring information related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

 

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay advises the Annual Spring Cleanup Program will take place beginning Monday, May 31, 2021.

 

Annual Spring Cleanup will start on Monday, May 31, 2021, with Town workers collecting litter throughout the community for approximately four to six weeks.

 

 

Bulk Waste Curbside Pickup will start on Monday, June 7, according to the following schedule:

 

Valley Area: Monday, June 7 – Wednesday, June 16

 

MOT Area: Thursday, June 17 – Friday, June 25

 

Spruce Park & North Side: Monday, June 28 – Wednesday, July 7

 

Dates are subject to change depending on quantities of materials placed roadside by residents.

 

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay will refuse to remove a portion of or all material from a residence if it considered an excessive amount and beyond the intent of the Spring Clean-Up.

 

The Municipal Landfill (Dump) is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Landfill is CLOSED on Sundays and on Statutory Holidays.

 

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is asking residents to please share this information, in particular with our Seniors that may not have access to Social Media or the Internet in general.

BULK WASTE ROADSIDE PICKUP

NON-ELIGIBLE ITEMS

The following items will NOT be accepted for bulk waste roadside pickup:

 

Car Wrecks

  • All vehicles and/or vehicle parts must be drained of all fluids and then delivered to the municipal landfill to the designated area.
  • Fluids can be delivered to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot at Municipal Landfill.

 

Paint

  • Must be delivered to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot at Municipal Landfill.

 

Fridges, Freezers, Air Conditioners

  • Will only be accepted at the landfill or curbside for pick up if accompanied with a certificate stating that all refrigerants have been purged.

 

Hazardous Waste (such as ammonia, acids, pesticides, etc)

  • Must be delivered to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot at Municipal Landfill.

 

Regular Vehicle Tires

  • Must be delivered to the local tire recycling depot.

 

Construction or Demolition Debris

  • Any debris that is not bagged must be delivered to the Municipal Landfill.

 

Earthen material, soil, sand, etc.

  • Must be delivered to landfill and disposed of in the correct area.

 

Brush/ Branches/ etc

  • Must be cut in 4-foot lengths and bundled.

 

Grass/ Leaves

  • must be placed in clear bags.

Grass/ Leaves

  • must be placed in clear bags, can also be taken to Municipal Yard Waste Site located off Corte Real Road.

 

Furniture & Appliances & Electronics

  • Appliances must not contain Freon. Fridges, Freezers & Air Conditioners must be taken to Municipal Landfill with a certificate stating that all refrigerants have been purged. Electronics can also be recycled at the Green Depot at 15 Churchill Street.
