Town & Dalhousie University Launch Public Transit Survey
“We Want To Hear From You”
Information for the Public
Release Date: June 16, 2021

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, with support from Mitacs Accelerate funding, has partnered with Dalhousie University, specifically Dr. Ahsan Habib and the Dalhousie Transportation Collaboratory, to study the feasibility of a public transit system in our community. This exciting collaboration is getting started with the launch of a survey (link below), and we need all community members to help us by taking the time to fill it out.

The main objective of this survey is to explore individual travel behavior, which will help us understand the present and future public transit needs for the community of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The survey will collect information about you, your regular travel habits, changes brought about by COVID-19, and your preferences, thoughts, and ideas related to the implementation of public transit. From the results of this survey, our researchers will recommend a possible transit route for the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area, which would increase mobility options and community engagement.

The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participation is entirely voluntary. Protecting your privacy is critical to the success of this survey. Therefore, your responses will be kept completely anonymous and only be used to produce statistical summaries.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this critical study. We would appreciate your completion of this survey by July 15, 2021. If you have any questions regarding the study, please contact Brenna Jarrar, Director of Community Development and Research, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, at cd@townhvgb.com.
