2021 Municipal General Election
Gathering at Town Hall on Election Night
Release Date: September 24, 2021

The Municipal General Election takes place Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

In past municipal elections, it has been the tradition that candidates and their respective families and supporters would gather in Council Chambers to watch as results become available.

With the COVID-19 Pandemic still prevalent, this activity will be prohibited. Therefore, no gatherings will be permitted at Town Hall on election night, Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Physical Distancing protocols as set out by the Chief Medical Officer of Health combined with the size of the space available will not permit more than 12 individuals in the Council Chambers at one time. With 21 Candidates total (5 for Mayor and 16 for Council) and potential friends, family and supporters, it would be unfair to allow some, if all cannot be present.

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Poll Results on election night will be posted to the Town’s Facebook Page as soon as they come in.

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay appreciates the understanding of the 2021 Municipal Candidates and the public on this matter.
