Kinsmen Park Holiday Opening
“Winter Wonderland”
Information for the Public
Release Date: December 13, 2021

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Department of Community Services & Recreation is pleased to advise residents that Kinsmen Park will be open throughout the holiday season for snowshoeing and walking activities effective today, Monday, December 13, 2021.

The Department of Community Services & Recreation has been busy decorating to give the facility a genuinely festive spirit to make the holidays a little brighter.

Kinsmen Park will be open Monday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Access to Kinsmen Park will be from the parking lot only, and washroom facilities are not available at Kinsmen Park. Therefore, please practice physical distancing at all times when accessing the facility.

In consultation with officials at Labrador Grenfell Health and guidance released by the Provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health’s office, the 13th Council of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Management, and Staff will continue to monitor updates relating to the pandemic and update residents regularly.

Residents will also notice holiday lighting missing from utility poles throughout the community. Due to our community’s utility workers’ health and safety, the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay will not be installing holiday lighting on utility poles. Instead, Community Services & Recreation staff have repurposed the holiday lighting at venues such as Kinsmen Park and Husky Park, as well as other areas around town.
