The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is pleased to highlight another amazing community organization that focuses on our community youth, Valley Danceworks Inc. (VDI) had an amazing showing at a recent regional competition. See below information from Valley Danceworks Inc. for more details.

Valley Danceworks Inc recently had another impressive competition during the weekend of March 31to April 3, 2022, as VDI’s competitive team competed at the 5678 Showtime Regionals held in St. John’s, NL. In total, sixteen studios from across Newfoundland and Labrador registered for the event.

The VDI team of thirty-six dancers brought home a total of 84 medals, consisting of:

33 Gold

27 Silver

24 Bronze

To add to this amazing display of talent, twenty-six of the VDI entries also received special invitations to compete at Dance World Cup in Charlevoix, Quebec in July 2022!

Special congratulations go out to Maci Battcock who received the honour of being named the 12 & Under Dancer of the Year, with the highest average scores for this age group.

Twenty dancers also received special acknowledgment by being invited to and received scholarships for the SDF Productions dance training tour in Hawaii for August 2022. These included four VDI dancers:

Maci Battcock

Holly Reardon

Elena Pike

Rachel Montague

A huge shout out to all the parent volunteers who help make this possible. After 2 years of COVID-19 cancellations and disappointments, we were thrilled to finally see this team on stage again representing Labrador in typical VDI style!

Valley Danceworks Inc. is not listed under Sport NL, therefore Dance cannot avail of provincial travel subsidies so VDI is extremely appreciative of the continued support of the Pot of Gold Fundraiser. Without it, none of this would be possible for our team of dedicated dancers.
