Flare Use at Dakota Range

Release Date: May 09, 2022 – Happy Valley-Goose Bay – Canadian Armed Forces

5 Wing Goose Bay would like to advise the public that 444 Combat Support Squadron will be conducting Night Search pattern familiarization flights in the vicinity of Dakota Range from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on May 11 and 12, 2022.

As part of this training, distress signal flares will be deployed over a period of 15 minutes. The public may see one green flare, one red flare, and one hand-held flare. The use of distress signals for this training serial follows all training safety guidelines. All relevant authorities have been notified of flare use.
