2022 Summer Recreation Program

Release Date: June 24, 2022

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Department of Community Services & Recreation is pleased to advise the community that the Summer Recreation Program will commence Monday, July 4, 2022, at the EJ Broomfield Arena.

Registration will be available online starting June 29, 2022. The Town will provide a link to the online registration site before the registration date.

The main focus of this year’s summer recreation program is to help a child develop a passion for sports and active living and begin to understand not just how but when to pass, jump, kick etc., in their favourite sports.

Key Skills and Benefits

1. Continued gross motor skill development

2. Socialization, listening skills, confidence building, coordination, active living

3. Growing emphasis on teamwork and sportsmanship

4. Introduction of more/regular non-competitive team play

Location: EJ Broomfield Arena

Dates: July 4, 2022 – August 26, 2022 (8 Weeks)

(Closed-August 1, 2022, for the Civic Holiday)

Times: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Options for Fee-Based Early Drop Off 7:30 AM and Late Pick up by 5:00 PM.

Ages: 5-11 years (Must have attended Kindergarten this past school year.)

Fees (per week, HST Inclusive)

First Child – $100.00

Second Child (within the same family) – $90

Third and Subsequent Child (within the same family) – $85
