Port Information

The Port of Goose Bay has one industrial dock. The main dock is a 244m long by 15m wide marginal wharf with 9m minimum water depth on the west side and 5.6 – 9.1m minimum water depth on the east side.

The main storage facility is 53m by 31m. Other infrastructure includes asphalt and fuel tanks, as well as a transshipment warehouse. There is also a substantial area of lay down space. The port is also currently under-utilized providing significant business opportunities, and with its ease of access and close proximity to town, there is a large amount of land that could easily be converted to suit a variety of industrial needs.

The Labrador Hunting & Fishing Association Inc. (LHAFA) operates a boat launch to the east of the main ferry dock. Currently, the annual membership fee is $50.The association is currently planning to construct a fully serviced Marina between the Goose Bay Airport Corporation Float Plane Base and the main Ferry Dock and is conducting a public survey to determine the scope of the project. The LHAFA is proposing to build infrastructure that includes: secured boat storage area, in water berth rentals, slipway, shore power, fuel services, non-motorized watercraft rentals, and a facility for the membership.
