Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL – As part of the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay’s commitment to public safety, new residential drop-off procedures have been implemented at the Municipal Landfill.
**The Municipal Landfill will re-open to residential traffic on Monday, May 9th, 2016.**
The Town remains committed to safety in all facets of its operations to ensure the well-being of its employees and the public.
Effective immediately, the following procedures will be in place for residential garbage drop-off:
• Residents are required to check-in with the gate attendant, to be permitted access to the landfill. *There will continue to be no tipping fees for residential drop-off.*
• Residents are required to abide by all posted signage while accessing the landfill.
• The residential section is separate from the commercial section. Residents are not permitted in the commercial drop-off zone.
• The residential section will briefly close on a regular basis, as required, to allow heavy equipment to work in the area.
We ask members of the public to please be respectful of the new safety measures in place at the Municipal Landfill. These procedures have been implemented to minimize risk and ensure the safety of the community and our employees.
