Emergency Preparedness

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is doing its part to provide resources and information for residents to be prepared to protect themselves and their families during emergencies. We have created this section as a resource for our residents to understand the Town’s Emergency Management Plan, register for the Upper Lake Melville Emergency Alert System and be prepared!

Development & Zoning Regulations

It’s the Town’s responsibility to ensure orderly and sustainable growth and development. There are regulations, procedures and policies for a variety of land use topics. These ensure fair and clear information and processes for applicants, the public, staff and Council.

Permits & Applications

For information and downloads concerning our Town permits and applications, you can learn more here. We’ve included descriptions and documentation for building and land use permits, and a wide variety of application forms.

The following are individual policies from the Municipal Policy Manual. This covers policies, rates, fees, and procedures for: administration, community services and recreation, finance, public safety, and public works.

Specific Rates and Fees can be found within the Finance Policies section.

Town Regulations

The following is a list of complete Municipal regulations. We encourage residents to become familiar with the regulations in our community. Municipal regulations are enforced by the Town’s Community Constable, who works in partnership with the Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP.
