The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay advises the public it closely monitors information related to COVID-19. As residents know, as of 12:01 AM, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, the entire province is under

COVID-19 Alert Level 4

The Town is advising residents and businesses that effective immediately, the Town Hall is  OPEN for regular business on an appointment basis. The Town Hall will remain open for regular Monday to Friday business hours, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Counter Service from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

 

The Town Hall reopened to residents on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 9:00 AM with the following Physical Distancing guidelines in place. These guidelines will remain in effect for the foreseeable future:

 

  • The public will be permitted to pay their Residential and Business Tax Bills and permits and fees at Town Hall from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday.
  • Only one customer permitted at a time to ensure appropriate physical distancing
  • For all other services, please call 896-3321 to arrange an appointment
  • Barricades have been put in place to allow only for a straight path between the bill payment counter and the door
  • A plexiglass barrier is in place to provide a safe physical distance while serving residents
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols are in place

 

 

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FACILITIES:

 

  • Town Hall – OPEN by Appointment only – recommend call 896-3321 for info/assistance/appointment between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday except for holidays. (subject to change)
  • Kinsmen Park (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday to Sunday)
  • Lake Melville Dog Park

CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC FACILITIES:

 

  • Goose Bay Curling Club
  • Recycling Activities at CAF Arena on Northside (MOT)
  • Lawrence O’Brien Arts Centre

 

 

ALL ESSENTIAL SERVICES AVAILABLE, INCLUDING:

 

  • Water & Sewer Services
  • Roads (Snow Clearing)
  • Residential Roadside Garbage Pickup
  • Municipal Landfill (Dump)
  • Fire & Emergency Services

The Town will continue to work with Labrador Grenfell Health to support communication efforts of Public Health. Labrador Grenfell Health Public Advisories will contain pertinent information, and the Town will aid in sharing this information.

 

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay encourages the public to follow current Public Health guidelines outlined by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

 

Public Health is ramping up efforts to get Booster Shots into the arms of individuals. Stay up to date with these efforts by checking back often with the Labrador Grenfell Health Vaccine Portal which can be found at the below link:

In consultation with officials at Labrador Grenfell Health and guidance released by the Provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health’s office, the 13th Council of Happy Valley-Goose and Management will monitor updates relating to the pandemic and update residents regularly.

 

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay asks residents to please share this information, particularly with our seniors who may not have access to Social Media or the Internet in general.

 

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay strongly recommends that residents and businesses utilize a cautious approach and exercise recommended practices to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.

Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay App

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is reminding residents it has launched a new Mobile App. The App is available to download, free of charge, on the App Store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android devices.

The App will be a great addition to communication updates for our residents, visitors, and businesses. Residents can use it to receive alerts regarding Boil Water Advisories and Traffic Advisories, Media Releases, and information related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Other Town Public Service Announcements, Community Calendar Events, as well as other important News, can be accessed via the App.

Note: The App will not duplicate or replace the Emergency Alerts System.

We encourage residents of Happy Valley-Goose Bay to download the app and using it to be kept even more informed about what’s happening in our community.
