Did you know 564,000 Canadians are currently living with dementia? In 15 years if nothing changes in Canada this figure will increase to 937,000.
Walk for Alzheimer’s is Canada’s biggest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Walks take place in over 150 communities across Canada.

Monies raised support programs and services in your community that improves the quality of life for people living with dementia and their families and support other activities like education and public awareness. With 25,000 Canadians diagnosed with dementia each year and no cure yet, the need to support people with dementia and their caregivers has never been greater.

The walk will take place here in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at the Town Hall. Registration for the walk begins at 1:00 pm and the walk will begin at 2:00 pm. Refreshments, food, and prizes provided by local sponsors. All are welcome! Residents from our Long Term Care Facility will be joining us again this year and we hope others in the community will take advantage of this walk and join us with their loved ones! The route of the walk will be from the Town Hall to the Queen of Peace Middle School and back. Wheelchairs are able to travel on this route. Dogs/cats are welcome at the walk but we ask that you be responsible for your pet and to respect the Town’s regulations by keeping your pet on a leash and picking up after your pet if necessary.
Your participation helps make memories matter.

Your donation promises that help will always be available.
