The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay’s Fire Department will be raising awareness for fire safety during Fire Prevention Week, October 9-15th.
Members of the community are invited to kick-off the week at the Fire Hall Open House on Sunday, October 9th from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.! The event will include a free BBQ as well as a Jaws of Life Demonstration taking place at 2 p.m.
Everyone is invited to visit the Fire Hall anytime throughout the week for tours and free ice cream!
Volunteer firefighters will also be doing safety and fire alarm drills in local schools throughout the week.
The 2016 theme for Fire Prevention Week is about replacing smoke alarms every 10 years from the date of manufacture: “Don’t Wait – Check the Date!”
*Please note that the Open House event is taking place close to the Trapline Marathon finishing celebrations in Kinsmen Park. Everyone is invited to drop by the Fire Hall Open House following the Trapline celebrations.*
