Every year thousands of volunteer hours are contributed by community members that affect our day to day lives.  The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay aims to celebrate this contribution yet again this year by hosting a Family Evening: Public Skate, a Hockey Game showcasing the Volunteer HV-GB Firefighters, local RCMP and the Novice division of the Lake Melville Extreme Minor Hockey Association, a Healthy Snack, and a Volunteer Award Presentation.  This year’s event will take place on April 17th at the E.J. Broomfield Arena, and will be offered at no cost.

The Town recognizes that volunteers play a vital role for many organizations; therefore, the Town offers you the opportunity to recognize volunteers’ contribution to your organization by nominating them for an Award.  You can nominate a maximum of two (2) volunteers and they must be in two different categories:

·         Arts ·         Community Services
·         Education ·         Health
·         Cultural ·         Ministerial
·         Youth

·         Group / organization

·         Sport and Recreation

Your nomination must include the following:

·         Name of your organization ·         Name of Nominee
·         Category ·         Short description (30 words) of contribution

All nominations should be returned to Dominic Demers at [email protected] or by fax at 896-9454, by March 18th, 2019.  Each nomination will be reviewed by the Volunteer Appreciation Committee and they will select a recipient for each category. The Award will be presented at the celebration on April 17th,  during the first hockey intermission. For more information contact Dominic at 896-8542.

Thank you for your support in recognizing volunteer contribution.
