2020 Virtual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is advising the community the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony this holiday season will be a virtual event live-streamed via the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.
The event will air LIVE on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at 5:00 PM from Town Hall.
To comply with Public Health Guidelines related to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2020 Tree Lighting Ceremony will be a “Virtual Event”. The Town strongly urges the public not to attend the event in person, or to park along Hamilton River Road as this will cause unintended traffic disruptions and safety concerns. Public Health Guidelines recommend no gatherings at these types of events.
These unprecedented measures, though unfortunate, are necessary to be proactive against the potential spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay extends thanks to the public for their understanding at this time of uncertainty.
In consultation with officials at Labrador Grenfell Health and guidance released by the office of the Provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health, the 12th Council of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Management, and Staff will continue to monitor updates relating to the pandemic and update residents regularly.
