2021 Municipal General Election Update
Information for the Public

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay reminds the public that the 2021 Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Information on Poll locations will be released at a later date.
The public should also be aware that pending updates related to COVID-19, the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay will be offering in-person voting. Still, at the same time, we are also preparing for mail-in voting scenarios as well (if needed). The Town will provide further updates as information and updates become available.
There will be two separate ballots for voters to consider on election day:
- Ballot for Mayor seat
- Ballot for up to six Councillors
If you are considering running for the above, please consider the below eligibility requirements:
- You are an eligible voter in the municipality in which you are nominated.
- You are not in arrears of taxes or other charges to the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
- You have lived in the municipality for at least 30 days before the commencement of the nomination period.
Nominations for seats on Council will open at 8:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, and close at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021. If a vote by mail scenario is enacted, nominations will run from August 24, 2021, to August 31, 2021.
