2021 Santa Claus Parade
“Christmas Movies”
Important Parade Information
Release Date: December 3, 2021
The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Santa Clause Parade will take place on Sunday, December 5, 2021. This year the Town is attempting something new, please see below important details:
Sunday, December 5, 2021 – 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM – Sensory Free “Static Parade”- Arena Parking Lot
Sensory Free “Static Parade” will take place in the EJ Broomfield Memorial Arena parking lot. Registered Floats should make their way to the Arena by 1:30 PM. Floats will be lined up by the Parade Marshall and Town Staff and floats will remain stationary from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (no lights – no sirens). At 3:00 PM floats will begin to make their way to Green Street.
For those attending the Sensory Free Static Parade, please follow the guidance given by Town officials and proceed with caution.
Sunday, December 5, 2021 – 4:00 PM – Traditional Santa Claus Parade – Hamilton River Road
At 4:00 PM the parade will begin on Green Street and travel down Hamilton River Road, ending at the College of the North Atlantic Campus.
The theme of the 2021 Santa Parade is “Christmas Movies”
Town Staff will have intersections along Parade Route Closed off for the duration of the parade. Motorists can expect detours, please proceed with caution.
In the interest of public safety, the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay once again stresses to those attending the Parade from the side of Hamilton River Road, please use extreme caution and care and not step onto the roadside and/or approach the Floats at any time during the parade. Throwing Candy and or Treats from Floats is not permitted.
Winners will be announced immediately following the 2021 Santa Claus Parade via the Town’s Facebook Page. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will not be a ceremony or gathering in the College of the North Atlantic Gymnasium following the parade.
The 2021 Registered Floats will be judged in the following categories:
- Best Adherence to Theme – “Christmas Movies“
- Best Illuminated Float
- Best Commercial Float
- Best Decorated Float
