Town and Dalhousie University Seeking Feedback on Route Design of Potential Public Transit Service
“Draw your Ideal Transit Route!”
Information for the Public
Release Date: August 18th, 2021

The survey will close this Friday, August 20th, at 4:00 PM. If you have not already done so, now is your chance to show us what you would like transit to look like in our community!

What would a bus service in your community look like to you?

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and the public transit research team at Dalhousie University seek further feedback from all community members.

For this next step in the research process, we invite you to draw your ideal transit route!

Instructions on using the link:

You will be asked to first type in the text box at the top of the page the five key areas in Town where, in your opinion, a bus stop must exist.

Once done, you will proceed to the map. Click on the icon in the top right-hand corner of the map to begin drawing your route. Using the drawing tool, point and click on each location where you would like to see a bus stop. The line connecting the stops will be generated as you go. You may use the navigational tools on the left-hand side of the map to zoom in and out as needed. Once you are done, click the checkmark icon on the bottom of your map. You may then proceed to click the green button that reads “submit” at the bottom of the webpage (directly below the map) to send your route design to our research team.

If at any point you want to stop and start again, click the checkmark to finish drawing, then click the garbage can icon that appears in the top right-hand corner. Clicking the garbage can will give you a blank map to try again. Repeat the process above until happy with your design.

If you prefer to draw your route on paper, please visit the Town Hall to pick up a hardcopy version of the map. You may return your hard copy to the Town Hall in person or email a photo/scanned copy to cd@townhvgb.com.

Contact Brenna Jarrar, the Director of Community Development and Research, at cd@townhvgb.com or phone at 709-899-0392 if you have any questions or encounter any issues using the online software. Thank you in advance for your interest and engagement.”
