Black Bear Advisory – Birch Island Boardwalk

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is advising the public that a Bear sighting has been reported on the Birch Island Boardwalk.

 

The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources, Wildlife Division, has been advised.

 

Residents are advised to avoid the Birch Island Boardwalk until the situation is resolved by the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources, Wildlife Division.

 

Wildlife Officials do not monitor Social Media to track wildlife sightings; therefore, residents are encouraged if they see a Black Bear in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area, before posting to Social Media please contact:

 

  • North West River Forestry and Wildlife District Office at 709-897-8479 (regular office hours)
  • After Hours Line (24/7) at 709-897-7116.
