Clarification On Vaccine Booking
Urgent Public Safety Message
Release Date: March 8, 2021

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay wishes to clarify a Public Service Announcement made on the morning of March 8, 2021, regarding Booking Vaccination Appointments.

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, through a post made on Social Media, details of the vaccination booking portal and Authorization Code were released by a member of the provincial legislature. Since that time residents in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area have been utilizing that information and were successfully able to book a vaccination appointment, myself included.

It is now apparent that residents of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, 18 years or older are not supposed to book an appointment at this time, but rather residents 70 years and older are.

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Manager of Public Relations, Waylon Williams apologizes for any inconvenience and confusion this may have caused. Given that appointments were successfully made through the portal for residents of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, the information from the March 6, 2021, Facebook post and the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Public Service Announcement from this morning has undoubtedly created confusion.

As Manager of Public Relations, I offer sincere apologies to residents and to Labrador Grenfell Health for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused.
