Fire Station Open House
Information for the Public
October 2, 2015
In recognition of Fire Prevention Week 2015, the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Fire Station will be holding a week-long open house from October 4 – 10th.
Members of the community are welcome to stop by any time for a tour and meet and greet with our firefighters. This is a family event with plenty of ice cream and goodies for the children.
The Happy Valley-Goose Bay fire department will also be doing fire drill evacuations at all schools in the Upper Lake Melville region throughout the week to educate students on fire safety.
The Fire Prevention Week theme for this year is: Hear The Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm!
When it comes to smoke alarms, it’s about “location, location, location.” Fire prevention experts recommend homeowners install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level of the home (including the basement).
