Increased Snowmobile Trail Use Around 5 Wing Goose Bay

January 2, 2021  – Goose Bay – Canadian Armed Forces

5 Wing Goose Bay would like to advise local snowmobilers and the public that there will be an increased use of the snowmobile trails in and around 5 Wing Goose Bay and the area between Happy Valley Goose Bay and North West River by members of the Canadian Army from January 3-8, 2021.

This training is specifically designed to teach new operators of the safe operation of our Light Over Snow Vehicles (snowmobiles). You may see large groups of snowmobiles traveling together and stopped at various locations around the trails. Your patience and caution are appreciated.

5 Wing works to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations including those governing the safe use of a motor vehicle.

The participants of the exercise are members of 37 Combat Support Group, all live in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. All COVID-19 protocols such as mask wearing, social distancing, and washing hands often will be followed throughout the training.
