The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is advising members of the public that we are currently experiencing mechanical issues with the condenser at the E.J. Broomfield Memorial Arena.
While the Town is committed to resolving the issue as soon as possible, our main operational priority for the arena is to maintain a high quality ice surface for user groups.
In an effort to continue providing the arena for various sports and recreational tournaments, the Town has made the decision to turn off the heaters above the bleachers until the mechanical issue has been resolved.
WE ARE ADVISING ALL INDIVIDUALS TO DRESS FOR EXTREME COLD WINTER TEMPERATURES WHEN ATTENDING EVENTS AT THE ARENA.
The Department of Community Services and Recreation apologizes on behalf of the Town for any inconvenience this may cause.
