NOTICE
Possible Wolf Sightings
March 4, 2015

The following information is provided by the Community Constable for the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay:

In the past few days there have been a number of possible wolf sightings in the Lower Valley area. Nothing has been confirmed to date. The Department of Natural Resources has been notified.

The Town will have the Animal Control Officer do some early morning and late evening patrols in the area to make sure that this is not a misidentification of a wandering Husky in the area, as this has happened in the past. At times roaming dogs are mistaken for wolves especially in the dark.

Residents are reminded that the Town By-Law requires dogs to be tethered or penned at all times within town limits. Dogs caught roaming on streets will be caught and placed in the pound.

Residents that do see wild animals roaming within town limits are to call the Department of Natural Resources 24hr call-line at 709-897-7116. Dog complaints can be directed to the Town at 709-896-3321 or 709-897-5055.
