This week across Canada, awareness is being shared on the importance and value of the Kin Canada Organization.
Kin Canada is an all-Canadian service organization made up of dedicated member volunteers who serve their community’s greatest need through hosting and sponsoring events and community service projects. Since its founding, Kin, Kinsmen and Kinette clubs across Canada have contributed more than $1 billion to Canadian communities and disaster relief programs beyond our borders.
Founded in 1920 by Hal Rogers, Kin Canada has touched lives both in Canada and in countries across the globe.
The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is proud to help raise awareness of this truly amazing organization and recognize the many volunteers of the Kins, and Kinettes that proudly serve our community.
In a Noon hour ceremony held at Town Hall, His Worship, Mayor Wilson (Wally) Andersen and members of the 12th Council of Happy Valley-Goose Bay signed a Proclamation Proclaiming February 16 to 22, 2020 as Kin Canada Week in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and to also recognize the Kin Canada Centennial year with February 20th, 2020 marking 100 Years of the valued organization. The Kin Canada Flag will also fly in front of Town Hall.
Members of the Goose-Happy Valley Kinsmen and Goose-Happy Valley Kinettes Clubs were also on hand for the ceremony.
