The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay’s is advising residents of a meeting that occurred regarding the transient population in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Friday, July 21st. In attendance were representatives from:
Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation
Mushuau Innu First Nation
Nunatsiavut Government
Office of Labrador Affairs
Office of MHA Perry Trimper
RCMP
Town of Happy Valley- Goose Bay
During the meeting, additional groups were identified to be included for future discussions. A number of short-term and long-term action items were delegated for follow-up with updates to be provided at the next meeting.
To assist with issues of health and public safety, residents who witness illegal activities or inappropriate behavior are asked to contact the RCMP and be prepared to provide a statement. Without this information, RCMP are unable to take further action to prevent future occurrences.
