Remembrance Day

Honour and Remember

Every year, at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we gather at memorials to honour all who have fallen; it is also a time to appreciate those men and women that continue to serve our country today.

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Remembrance Poppy.

Due to concerns around COVID-19, there will not be a Remembrance Parade for 2021.

His Worship, Mayor George Andrews, members of the 13th Council, Management, and Staff of the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, encourage residents to pay tribute from our homes, doorsteps, and our driveways. At 11:00 AM, please take a pause and observe the moment of silence.

The Act of Remembrance

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget
