Reminder – Planned Power Interruption – Upper Lake Melville
Town Wide Water Restriction Measures

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay reminds residents of the planned power outage scheduled for Sunday, May 30, 2021, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This outage will affect all of the Upper Lake Melville region, which includes:
- Happy Valley-Goose Bay
- Mud Lake
- North West River
- Sheshatshiu
NL Hydro cannot activate the Gas Turbine that serves as a backup generator for the Upper Lake Melville area due to the nature of the upgrades.
The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Water & Sewer Department advises residents that an interruption of water services to residents and businesses is not expected during the 12-hour power outage. Crews will have backup generators in place to ensure water flow to residences and businesses.
The Town is implementing the below Town Wide Water Restriction Measures to ensure a constant uninterrupted water supply to all residences and businesses during the Sunday, May 30, 2021, Power Outage.
- No Lawn Sprinkler Garden Hose Usage
- No filling of Swimming Pools
- No Car Wash activities
These measures are necessary to ensure all areas of Town have consistent access to water at residences and business.
