Snow Clearing Operations: Municipal Traffic Regulations

Information for the Public

February 7th, 2017

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is asking for the assistance of residents during this winter season to allow for our Public Works crews to safely and efficiently conduct snow clearing operations.

In the interest of public safety, the Town also encourages the public to become familiar with the Municipal Traffic Regulations related to snow clearing. The snow clearing regulations are in effect until mid-April 2018.

To allow for safe snow clearing operations, residents and business owners are advised:

  • NOT TO PARK on any street between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m.;

  • NOT TO PARK on any street for up to 12 hours after a snow storm; and

  • NOT TO place/throw snow or ice on any street, sidewalk or public parking lots within Town limits.

The full Traffic Regulations related to snow clearing can be found in the Quick Links section of the Town’s website. The Community Constable is actively patrolling the Town’s roadways to enforce the regulations. Individuals who violate the municipal regulations are subject to being fined.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as our crews work to keep the streets clear and safe this winter season.
