Information for the Public

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Public Works Department is advising residents and businesses that due to necessary emergency repairs to the water distribution system the below-mentioned areas will experience traffic disruptions from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2019. Areas affected are:

 

  • The intersection of Grand Street & Grenfell Street – Traffic Advisory
  • Grenfell Street – Water Shut Off for Emergency Repairs
  • The intersection of Courte Real & Grenfell Street – Traffic Advisory

 

Please note that access will be provided to residents going to the business/organizations located in the Grenfell Street area.

Town Crews will have all applicable Safety Signage visible and motorists are encouraged to exercise caution and drive with the conditions in and around the area.

 

The Public is further advised that residences and businesses on Grenfell Street will experience water interruptions during this timeframe and therefore once water service is restored the Grenfell Street area will be under a Boil Water Advisory.

 

Regarding Boil Water Advisories:

Residents are advised to bring water that you might ingest to a rigorous rolling boil for one (1) minute.

For Example, boil water used for:

 

Drinking

Brushing teeth

Making juice from concentrate and powders

Cooking

Washing fruits and vegetables

Making tea, coffee, and other hot drinks

Making infant formula and cereals
