Join us on April 6th at the E.J. Broomfield Memorial Arena for a celebration of our local volunteers!
5:30 – 6:20 p.m. Public Skate
6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Opening Ceremonies
7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Recreational Hockey Game, Firefighters vs. RCMP Officers
Fill out a volunteer nomination ballot at the event to show your appreciation for someone who contributes to our community. Five volunteer names will be drawn for $100 gift certificates.
Tickets will be sold for a chance to WIN one of two Fat Bikes by playing “Buck for a Puck” during the second intermission.
All proceeds raised will be donated to the Libra House Emergency Shelter for Women.
The national anthem will be performed by Danielle Bennett. Musical entertainment will be provided by Gary and Jennifer Mitchell.
Community members are invited to enjoy free finger foods and refreshments upstairs.
Please note, this is a FREE event. Members of the public are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item for the Food Bank.
Volunteer Week is April 10-16, 2016 and is supported by the Community Sector Council of Newfoundland and Labrador. This year’s theme, ‘The many faces of volunteering’, highlights the diversity of volunteers in NL’s inclusive communities and the lives they touch.
This local event is held in partnership with the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Firefighters, RCMP, Labrador Friendship Centre and Labrador Grenfell Health.
