The Happy Valley-Goose Bay Department of Community Services & Recreation announces a new contest to hopefully allow folks to enjoy winter, especially during these uncertain times.

A part of Winter Carnival 2021, the Department of Community Services and Recreation is announcing the Snow Sculpture Contest! The contest is open to all residents and businesses of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The theme is “Boil Up”.

The idea is simple, use the abundance of snow we have in either your front or back yards and create a snow sculpture that adheres to the theme of a “Boil Up”.

Judges will view your snow sculptures photo submissions and award the following on Monday, March 8, 2021:

Residential Category:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for each of the below

Lower Valley
Upper Valley
Hamilton Heights (MOT)
Spruce Park (including Northside/Canadian Side)

We also encourage the business community to get in on the fun as well. If you would like to register your business for the Business Category, email us at pr@townhvgb.com

We encourage all participants to email photos of their creations and we will proudly showcase your photos on the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Website and Facebook Page. Email your photos to pr@townhvgb.com

The deadline for photo submissions is 4:00 PM, Friday, March 5, 2021. Judges will review the residential and business category snow sculptures photo submissions and announce winners on Monday, March 8, 2021. Please include your civic address in your email.

The Department of Community Services and Recreation encourages everyone to participate in the contest and have some winter Wonderland fun!
